The terms used relating to cyclones will be outlined. Also explained is a brief history of cyclones in Australia between 1970 and 2006. The video presentation will also include some helpful diagrams; the ‘Australian Cyclone Intensity Scale’ along with statistics to help you better understand cyclones. It will also explain the detection and warning processes that take place. You will find important information about preparing an emergency kit and other actions the community can take in the event of a cyclone along with some advice to help in the immediate recovery following a cyclone.
